Cat Shelter

Cat Shelter is a responsive static web application created for Koci Wolontariat Płock, where I volunteer. The project helps promote cats waiting for new homes and supports volunteers by presenting current, easy-to-browse information about the shelter's residents.

Project Purpose

• Promote cats that are looking for a new home
• Make current information easier to discover and share
• Support volunteers in keeping the shelter catalogue organized
• Provide a clear and accessible experience on desktop and mobile devices

Catalogue and Shelter Views

The website presents cat profiles with photos and key information, along with filtering by name, aviary and sorting criteria. A visual plan of aviaries helps volunteers orient themselves among many cats living in different areas of the shelter, while the full cat list provides an overview of promotion and data completeness statuses.

Data and Deployment

The catalogue is generated from an XLSX workbook. The wider solution also includes tools for synchronizing catalogue data and optional photo assets, while generated data and local cat images are versioned with the project. This allows the site to be deployed as a reliable static website without a backend. The project includes automated validation, unit tests and an accessibility check. It is deployed to GitHub Pages after the test suite passes.
